This IS a Test!!

Greetings,

We corrected pages 15 and 16 in the "The World's People" booklet today, so the work in that booklet is completed.  Today's assignment is an Open Book Test over Chapter 3.  I am requiring a page number with each answer,  because I believe it is important that kids know how to locate information in a textbook. I gave the kids about 35 minutes to work on the test in class, and what is not completed is homework. This will be graded as a test, so it is imperative that this assignment be completed on time.

We did not watch CNN Student News today.  I previewed it before school started, and the entire 10 minutes was dedicated to the shootings in Newtown.  I can't talk about this tragedy without crying, and although I don't think it's wrong to show emotion in front of kids, I simply can't talk about it right now.  I worry about my daughter, as I'm sure you worry about your child.  My daughter worries about me, now more than ever.  It's a hard truth to face, and I need a little time before I can talk about it with kids.
